A growing database of colour relating to places around the world. Each time someone uses the Colourground app to discover new colours, their information is downloaded to the map.
You can contribute to the project, save you own colours and browse through the diversity of global colours by downloading the downloading the app here.
Colourground is a colour capture app funded by the University of Edinburgh (through the Design Informatics Resident Entrepreneurs programme) and in part by the University of Middlesex.
This App allows you to take photographs to create colour palettes. These colours will be plotted and saved on a map according to the geographic location of the photographer (www.colourground.com).
The photographs you take are not transmitted to us, but will be saved to your device. You may also share your colour palettes via email and social media platforms. Please do not share any personal identifiable information (such as name, age, date of birth, etc.)
Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect the data that you submit to us, we cannot absolutely guarantee the security of your data. Therefore, any transmission is at your own risk.
As with most websites, when accessing this site or sending data to us via our app(s), our web servers may store your IP address in the logs.
Anything you choose to share through Colourground (including the location at which you recorded your colour palette) will be publicly available on the internet at www.colourground.com.
For data removal requests, please email admin[at]colourground.com.
